Hello,
I recently built my Performer and loaded the latest original firmware that was available. I just found that there are newer versions of the firmware here, but I'm not sure whether I can use the System Menu to perform the upgrade.
The manual suggests that this option will require the use of a file named UPDATE.DAT, which will be read by the bootloader from the SD Card. However, the firmware is available as a .hex file. Can I simply rename the .hex file to UPDATE.DAT to use this feature, or does it require a different file format?
In the latter case, I'd be interested in automating the process of producing the UPDATE.DAT from the latest version of the firmware, if that is possible. Any pointers in the right direction would be helpful.
