When conducting experiments where we measure frustration and other emotional aspects, we need to make sure that the intervention first and foremost can induce measurable differences to frustration.
Does winning the game induce a lower ranking in frustration? Does loosing teh game induce a higher ranking?
Does winning a majority of the sub-tasks within the game induce a lower ranking in frustration? Does loosing a majority of sub-tasks feel frustrating?
What are the incentives? What is at stake? Do participants have a desire to perform the actions given to them?
For future procedures, this would be a first step to take, before we can look at mechanisms that target how to improve frustration scores for BCI. It might be worth to ask future supervision groups to perform this experiment prior to the actual evaluation. Alternatively, we could require that there be a condition where the player looses all subtasks.
