Feature Request: add numbers to global tags #311

Prerequisites

Feature Request - The User Story

I want to make global tags for the UN Sustainable Development Goals. However, I noticed that numbers are not allowed in Global Tags. Could that limitation be removed in a next update? Or would it run into problems if you do?

Use case: There are 17 SDG with specific icons. So I wanted to make {SDG1} to {SDG17}. I don't know a simple solution for this, teachers and students should be able to easily add such an icon to there courses/texts. SDG_one to SDG_seventeen would be an option, but a bit far fetched. I think I will get the remark a couple of times a day: why are the numbers fully written?

Alterative you have considered

I can also try Generico or C4L to create this, but Filter Codes is used more at our University.

Hi @Richardvi ,

Thank you for your request. I cannot think of any reason why I would have excluded the possibility of using numbers. It was likely just an oversight. I will look into it and let you know when it is ready for testing.

Best regards,

Michael

Hi @Richardvi ,

Just to let you know, your request has been fulfilled. You can now use numbers in the name of global tags using FilterCodes version (2024100702 or later) here on GitHub. If you would be so kind, I would appreciate it if you would give it a try and let me know if it works for you. If it does, this update will be included in the next release of FilterCodes.

Best regards,

Michael
