[FYI]

A new version of the standard ISO/DIS 690 is currently under development, estimated to be published in 2021.

The proposed draft has a huge increase in number of pages, they go from 40 pages to the triple, 121 pages! According to the draft, they separated data elements and resource types (similar to the biblatex documentation -- entry fields and entry types), with no clear separation before. It's hard to guess anything from the content of the draft only, at least it's obvious they stress electronic resources more (e.g., section 7.12 Availability and location, and the whole section 8.15 Social media and services).

We will see in the future what it brings :open_mouth:

Very nice hint. The english version is now published and I have just found out that my institution even has access to that document. 😍 I did not have a very close look at all the stuff, but at first glance it looks extremly sophisicated likely to clearly answer a lot of questions where one had to do some guessing and sticking to one's own interpretations before. Will probably read that piece by piece and maybe try to code a few new things while reading.
