This repo is a home for OSS font-tools developed by Microsoft. Currently the only tool available is EgyptianOpenType. This tool is used to generate OpenType tables that enable a linear Egyptian Hieroglyphic font to leverage the Egyptian Hieroglyph Format Controls which were added to Unicode in version 12.0. The tool is written in Python 3 and generates OpenType tables as a Microsoft VOLT project. Documentation for this tool can be found in the Wiki.
This repo is also home to data tables used by the Universal Shaping Engine.
