Hi @marcelhuszar
Yes today the OOF setting is configured the Business Approval Management application. The feature request for Microsoft Graph connection to query this from the users mailbox settings has been raised before.

hi @Grant-Archibald-MS, this is a highly requested feature. Execs involved in approval (most of the times they are), they are not willing to open an application to set their status to OOF. We need an automated/ in-built way to check this.
Customer is currently evaluating workflow/ approval engines.
What is your question?
I have some questions about the delegation and OOF feature:
Here are some notes to this:
A. Retrieving OOF Status from Internal Systems:
Current Process: Currently, in the [Business Approval Management] application, approvers need to manually configure their settings, including enabling the OOF feature.
Proposed Solution: Explore integration capabilities with internal systems like Outlook to automatically retrieve OOF statuses. This would eliminate the need for manual configuration in the BAM application.
Benefits: Streamlines the process for approvers, particularly high-level executives who may not typically engage with the BAM application directly.
B. Delegation in Approval Scenarios:
Current Challenge: High-level executives may not actively engage with the BAM application to configure delegation settings.
Potential Solutions: Automated Delegation: Implement an automated delegation system based on hierarchical structures or predefined rules. This could ensure that in the absence of the primary approver, designated delegates automatically assume approval responsibilities. Integration with Existing Systems: Integrate delegation functionalities with existing platforms used by high-level executives, such as email or calendar systems. This would enable seamless delegation without requiring direct interaction with the BAM application.
Importance: Ensures continuity in approval processes even when key stakeholders are unavailable.
