@micuintus Problem is that a V-Play 2.16.1 compiled application on macOS 10.14.1 does not start, so I cannot really verify.
However, I kept V-Play 2.16.1 for the next iOS release, because the map in all following V-Plays behaves very badly.
Your branch merged to development results in:

When opening the map overview.
Although it was the idea of this ticket to work around the map bug, it actually aggravates the problem.
@jmastr: When you run this branch on the desktop (in "tablet mode") with a recent V-Play version (2.18.X, Qt 5.11 based), you go to filter, click the map overview, you mess with the filter settings (vegan, vegetarian, omnivore), rather sooner than later, you'll find zombie items on the map.
Can you test with a V-Play version that is based on Qt <= 5.10.X (I assume V-Play 2.16.1 should be fine)?
