todoist-task-management setup in roam-research #3

Hi,

First of all, thanks for the work, I think it will really help to improve my productivity 😄

I am trying to install this extension on Roam Research, and I have done it through the Depot. I have also created my Todoist account and copy pasted the token. But when using the command on roam, nothing appears. Do I need to install any other Roam Extension for it to work?

(I have no other Roam Research extensions installed)

On top of that, one quick doubt:

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I found out that it needs the extension "Smart Blocks". It could be a good idea to add prerequisites in the doc description for RR noob users. It works now :)

I am however struggling to define an easy workflow:

Thanks again!

Hi there @AndBerna and I apologise for the delay in reply. I've been swamped...

You don't need SmartBlocks, but can work with SmartBlocks if installed. Even without, you should be able to use Roam Command Palette and/or Hotkeys to trigger an import.

I haven't made the option to not use a header, as both the import and auto-sync functions need to find somewhere to place imported tasks.

If you're using the automatic sync mode, which only works for dated tasks not project-based, you can define the frequency it syncs in the Roam Depot Settings (default is 15min). On auto-sync it will bring in new tasks from Todoist. You can turn on a beta feature in Roam Depot Settings that allows bidirectional sync. New tasks, comments and subtasks from Roam will be sent to Todoist on each auto-sync.

Let me know if you need more help. Cheers!
