Upon first sign-in nothing shows up on message controller

Flow:

1. grunt serve
2. On landing page do command + Shift + R to ensure cache is clear
3. Sign in
4. Click on menu and messages button

@aayang If I add a console.log to the controller it works - i wonder do we need a scope.apply after we do vm.pubNubService = pubNubService?
