SVGs not working. #13

Closed jthiller closed 11 years ago

For serving the page to HiDPI users and for lightening the size of files downloaded, we should get SVGs working properly on the server.

maybe we can rename this issue "proposal to switch from Windows Azure to Heroku/AWS"?

This would actually solve multiple issues and opens possibilities (varnish/memcache solutions, noSQL database made easy - access to the filesystem, as easy to deploy and scale)

mohamedmansour commented 11 years ago

If you guys are willing to pay for heroku, then do it. All what @jeremybenaim said exists on Azure and more. What issues did we have other than svg?

It is just that we are new to Azure, but it gives us way more flexibility than Heroku, competitive to AWS.

It is fixed now, you can start using SVG. All we had to do at the hackathon was read some docs. I did it on the train right now.

Try it out http://letsgo.io/images/LetsGoLogo.svg

working svg

Awesome! Thanks for sorting that out.

Just re-opening it for discussion

When I say as easy to deploy and scale it meant as easy to deploy and scale as Azure ;)

And for the database I'm definitely not convinced by the MS solutions...and I'm more familiar with unix environments.

@jeremybenaim - Let's split this out as a separate issue.

okay... okay
