Upon talking to Montrey, we discovered some more weird behavior related to Permalinks in WP backend.
If turning off the "404 to 301 Redirect plugin," the David Bowie article goes to a 404.
Also possible strange redirection behavior besides all of this:
Apparently I was pulling the /voices/
version of the post, which was an error and only seen to logged-in admins, hence Google kept forwarding from this nonexistent page to earmilk.com.
Here is a header from Google's Structured Data Testing Tool request:
64.233.172.149 - - [12/Feb/2016:10:56:34 -0800] "GET /news/20150714/tomorrowworld-announces-final-lineup-for-2015-edition/ HTTP/1.1" 200 24005 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Google-Structured-Data-Testing-Tool +http://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/)" "47.20.3.104"
No idea why this is happening.
I try to test
http://earmilk.com/voices/maceagon-voyce/a-letter-to-david-bowie/
andhttp://earmilk.com/voices/maceagon-voyce/a-letter-to-david-bowie
but it instead testshttp://earmilk.com/
.And although test URL box says
http://earmilk.com/
, the source code of the tested page showshttp://earmilk.com/2016/02/12/anenon-shares-visceral-new-track-once/
permalink.While the canonical link shows
