Thoughts, @threeqube @edrushka? @threeqube: at the bottom does there need to be an issue/deny issuance selection?

Check all criteria [Earner Name] has met for this badge At least three are required: (@threeqube, is this still accurate?) [Checkboxes based on criteria]

Add your feedback and suggestions [Checkboxes for list below] You did a great job! You went above and beyond. Keep up the good work! Good job. You met all the criteria needed to earn this badge. Creative and thoughtful work. Nice reflection of your work. You didn't submit relevant evidence. Your evidence did not properly reflect the criteria. Good work! But you still have a few criteria to meet to earn this badge. Make sure you take a look at all the criteria before reapplying.

My only suggestion would be to sort the pre-canned messages in order of most to least enthusiastic, to make it easy for the assessors. Kind of like a scale from 1 to 10.

Does this order work for us?

The way it works is the required criteria is indicated as such. If the reviewer does not check off all the required criteria, then the badge is not awarded. If the reviewer checks off all the required criteria, the badge is awarded. But definitely this should be in the copy so the reviewer knows.

One tiny nit.

I think we should include the fact that they can check all that apply or something? Unless you think it's unnecessary.

Agree. Final final copy.

If you can click multiple selections, I would take out the "Good work! But" so it just reads "You still have a few criteria to meet to earn this badge. Make sure you take a look at all the criteria before reapplying."

emgollie commented 11 years ago

Agree--that way mentors could mark "Good job" and the missing criteria box. Closing edits to move this to implementation. Thanks!

Overall comments

1) Language sounds very "wooden" for the target age group. I think we should include some playful/youthful words to make it more appealing. 2) would include soft language in all the messages, especially those that are "rejection" ones. Since these are <13 kids its important we don't disincourage them ;) Instead we should make sure to "encourage" them 3) As mentioned before IMHO "Evidence" is not a comprehensible word by kids or adults in this context it might be confusing. Would use "work" or other relevant word that is used more commonly to describe artifacts submitted for a project.

4) Here are some specific suggestions with regards to 2) you expert word-smithers can improvise :

You met all the criteria needed to earn this badge. ==> Good work, you met.... Good work! But you still have a few criteria to meet to earn this badge. Make sure you take a look at all the criteria before reapplying. ==> That was a great start. You still have .... so give it another try.

*You didn't submit relevant evidence. ==> Looks like you didn't ... Read the activity again and show us your work

*Your evidence did not properly reflect the criteria. Interesting work, however the evidence you submitted did not ... Make sure to check the criteria before you try again.

*Also "good job" is probably the same as "you did great." I would take out "good job" Again, maybe some more kid friendly language?
