Discussed with @chloeatplay and think we've got a balance of mentor-understandable and kid-excitable options here:

We can only choose one message, can't choose more than one.

@cmcavoy they need to be able to choose more than one. Well that was as designed by @iamjessklein

If this a big issue, then we can relent but is it going to be a significantly bigger workload to enable choosing multiple?

cmcavoy commented 11 years ago

we have 2 days.

threeqube commented 11 years ago

Ok fine. :koala:

emgollie commented 11 years ago

Any chance we can include the option to select more than one in the future? (I know that question brings delight.)

In the meantime, I'd suggest limiting to these:

Um, no it wasn't... the mockup for canned responses in #46 has a single-select dropdown field, not a list of checkboxes. There is a list of checkboxes, but it's for the rubric, not the response.

Anyways, we can't do this in 2 days given all the other things we need to do for launch. :(

threeqube commented 11 years ago

As per @iamjessklein on this ticket we discussed this matter https://github.com/mozilla/aestimia/issues/18#issuecomment-17684493

and she said we can allow multiple responses. That's what we shared during the training session as well.

Totally understand that for now, they'll just have to select one answer.

I m not sure we need multiple responses, even though it would allow more variety it really doesn't add much to the feedback since the options cover the main cases.

iamjessklein commented 11 years ago

Agreed with actions taken, but for the record - the reason we had several options was to support different kinds of user interactions. For example, a learner needed to work harder, there would be language around that.

emgollie commented 11 years ago

Thanks @iamjessklein. Do these stripped down options still meet those needs?

Add your feedback and suggestions Please check the box that applies.

chloeatplay commented 11 years ago

@iamjessklein agreed- and @emgollie had plenty covered in her previous iteration. Personally I prefer the past solution with more options than the srtipped down version over here, especially since the chosen ones sound a bit wooden as have mentioned previously. IMHO including more options that have more variety is best both for the age of the target audience and in the case of providing the same student with the same line for a series of badges.

threeqube commented 11 years ago

@cmcavoy can we add in choose more than one feedback as per thoughts here? If not, we'll go with what @emgollie has here https://github.com/mozilla/aestimia/issues/47#issuecomment-18865672 but if we can leverage our devs to enable ability to pick more than more option, than we'll go with the previous longer list of pre-canned feedback messages here https://github.com/mozilla/aestimia/issues/47#issuecomment-18651999

cmcavoy commented 11 years ago

I'd rather stick with a single message so we can hopefully get more done with favorites.

Works for me. EVERYONE, for now, we're gonna do select one pre-canned message.
