Important Notes

• If the user selects None as the background colour, we need to add an underline to the text. This is so that we differentiate between text and links.

We need to get back in sync. Design, then annotate, and then hand over for implementation. I've filed #720 for a short-term fix. This issue is for design speculation. @alanmoo, you may unsubscribe to this chatter. We will page you if and when things are ready.

I don't like the idea of jumping to a text link style when selecting none as a background. Jarring for users. It also strongly suggests web links rather than page nav, something we don't yet offer. It also reduces they way people might utilize buttons. I'd rather add italics, bold, underline as a discreet feature.

I don't like opacity sliders in the middle of color palettes.

I don't love the color combos made possible by this palette. Also don't think it really matter.

I don't like assigning background color before foreground color.

I'm not sure what we're trying to fix for users and whether we really need to answer the questions opened by #611.
