if stafflines change at restart, don't force new score #729

If stafflines changes at a restart, don't force a new score. Email from originator:

I'm typesetting an orchestral score from an autograph dated 1877. Among the peculiarities of the manuscript is a timpani part with 2 fixed pitches (c and g) notated above and below the staff line of a single-line staff. Because of this and other unusual features of the autograh I want to precede my modern edition with an "incipit" bar showing the original staff lines, keys and meters of the autograph. I'm using the 'restart' command for implementing that incipit. However, when I change the value of the 'stafflines' parameter for the timpani staff from 1 to 5, then the staff lines of the incipit bar are prolonged to the right page margin and the new score is 'restarted' on a new line rather than on the same line as the incipit bar.

Email exchange:

This does seem to be a bug, and we're looking into it.

we overlooked the fact that the number of stafflines was being changed, and changing the number of stafflines on a staff always forces a new score to be started. So this is the way we intended it, not a bug, from our point of view.

OK. However, since MUP 'restart' is generally perfect for incipits showing original clefs, note values etc. as often found in scholarly editions of older music, then I'd like to see 'restart' also support change of stafflines. Could that feature be added to the MUP wish list?
