Hi, we need an update on Xcon for sky go app, I updated the app and now it's saying it will not play because iPad is jail broken. Much appreciated

Recently jail broke my iPad 2 all software up to date, will definitely purchase alias if a patch to enable this new version of sky go is created, cheers

I no how much people need it like me so no worries, if it doesn't play after installing it means you need to log on to skygo and go to manage devices and remove the device and then go back to the skygo app and it will play 100% pal

Just a general rule of thumb. If an app requires xcon don't update the app until we can push a release out to support it. You can use something like Update Hider or Alias to hide the update on the device.

SkyGo forced another update, wouldn't allow the app to even start without applying the update. Says to me they're monitoring various elements on startup. Would love an xcon update to get this sorted :(

Means it would require a hell of a lot of work to make it happen. That's also assuming 1.4 will even still work. I haven't been able to look at 2.0 myself since I haven't gotten an ipa but @n00neimp0rtant said a while back that that one will be more trouble than it's worth.

No actually I talked with a few people and finally was able to see a copy of 2.2.1 myself and I think I can make this happen. But I don't want to get everyone's hopes up just yet.

Yes and No. I can see what needs to be patch, but the problem is I don't have a skygo account so I can't tell if I'm patching the right things. If anyone wants to volunteer their account please email me at lunatik@crazy.net

FYI I have 2 volunteers from my previous post. This is still a work in progress. I'm actually in the process of working some global style patches which should hopefully fix skygo and a few others at the same time. Thanks everyone for your patience.

Any update on this? I see no point anymore in having a jailbroken iPad if I cant use Sky Go, I see less point in giving someone my account to fix it if they only fix an outdated version then do nothing else.

Unlike some other TV based apps that I have access to and can see what is going on, SkyGo is just one of those that either may take a long time or just won't happen. I'm not saying that i'll be giving up, but finding exactly what they are doing without access to their servers is very difficult.

The person would have to be very knowledgeable on how to reverse engineer and use gdb. Otherwise there is nothing I could get a user to do.

I use the VPN expess from the App Store and I get 5mbs from a UK server on it. I've just done a speed test and has worked fine when I go on holiday with skygo. You also get 500mb free when you create an account. I hope this helps
