Open yoz2580 opened 12 years ago

yoz2580 commented 12 years ago

Hi, we need an update on Xcon for sky go app, I updated the app and now it's saying it will not play because iPad is jail broken. Much appreciated

Thanks

jus71n commented 11 years ago

Just tried the above fix, and I'm getting error 9, streaming unavailable??!!!

jus71n commented 11 years ago

How about we just get the latest one cracked, or a working xcon! Just wasted trying the above fix and its cost me a device slot for a month

virman commented 11 years ago

Try this xcon http://goo.gl/pGkLA it fixed error 9 for me

jus71n commented 11 years ago

Ok tried that, now I'm back to jailbroken device not supported

qwerty789 commented 11 years ago

@georgemcfcbrown: that repo install SkyGo 2.3 (UK only)

paulmurra commented 11 years ago

Just downloaded it and worked perfect,I'm in Ireland ,u must uninstall xcon, app sync and sky go apps before u try to install the old sky go patched, thanks.

georgemcfcbrown commented 11 years ago

I'm in England so yes must only be uk then sorry. If u down load full force from cydia it will stretch sky go screen to fit iPhone 5 coz its smaller on 2.3 for iPhone 4 size

Tried uninstalling, reinstalling with no joy

jus71n commented 11 years ago

No progress for latest version???

prengo commented 11 years ago

So nothing for Italian Sky Go? Only UK?

jus71n commented 11 years ago

UK doesn't work for me????

jonbags commented 11 years ago

Think i've found a solution to that error..

I tried re-installing/reboot/refresh/using that deb file etc about a million times and finally got it to work Not sure what exactly did it but i'll tell you what I did and hopefully it'll work for you..

First I removed everything, sky go, xcon, Then i removed the hackulo.us repo (needed it to install the IPA) Then I removed the n00neimp0rtant repo Then I removed the bengerard repo Re-added the bengerard repo Installed his SkyGo package (3.0) Re-enter username/pass (didn't have to re-register device though) Works - as soon as you see the play button change to a pause then quids in.

Hope it helps

robky69 commented 11 years ago

I tried the installation from bengerard repo but it install sky go UK that is useless for italian users...

Can anyone suggest a procedure valid for italian users?

I think that if we are able to re-install an older (patched) version of the sky go italy ipa it would work, but I can't figure out where I can get it: any help?

thanks :-)

There is a subscription for 4.99 on Sky Sports App What do I get for that subscription and does it work on jb devices?

georgemcfcbrown commented 11 years ago

I pay £55 for tv broadband telephone line and I get sky go for free part of the deal

jus71n commented 11 years ago

Jonbags, you my friend are a f*cking star. That worked perfectly for me!!

Be nice if a proper fix for the latest version was sorted though.

dmrolyat commented 11 years ago

Jonbags....the bengerard repo install works perfectly, although you do need to remove all traces of other previous installs. However, this does interfere with appsync5 and I can no longer get app sync to install.....

robky69 commented 11 years ago

I'm happy for the guys who succedeed in installing the UK version of skygo using Jonbags procedure.

However, I think that the problem is to find a way to make xcon work because skygo italy, for instance, does not work. If I can do something to help the process I'm glad to do. Let me know.

jonbags commented 11 years ago

milkbottlec - Installed the sky sports app on my jailbroken ipad - no problems with it. Doesn't appear to have any jailbreak protection.

I've got a different kind of issue here, due to trying out a beta xcon file I lost my sky go access and had to reinstall. Resulted in me losing my device change for the next month. When I use sky go 3.0 non jailbroke it works and my phone is in the managed devices, but when I try to use the patched 2.3 it's telling me i've reached my device limit. Is there a way I can fool it into thinking its the same device? I checked the UDID before and after jailbreaking and it was still the same so why does 2.3 patched need an extra device slot?

tomdotcom commented 11 years ago

I have had the same issue RE device slots.

I would be interested to know why the issue occurs and if there is a way round it.

As a short-term fix, Jimmy, if you don't already have Sky Anytime Extra (the service that lets you download stuff so you can watch it on the go when you don't have an Internet connection), you can get a 2 month free trial. Anytime Extra ups your device limit to 4, rather than 2. You won't be able to use the new features (downloading stuff) as you need the latest version of the software and as far as I know there isn't a patched version (yet?). You will however get the extra device slots to tide you over. Just remember to cancel it a month before the trial ends as after the trial period it will be £5 a month extra and you can't use the extra features whilst jailbroken.

I really hope that someone patches the latest version of the software as being able to download stuff would be awesome. I get the underground to work so watching Anytime live broadcasts isn't possible.

jam206 commented 11 years ago

Yea thanks but I already have sky go extra and used all my slots up lol, guess ill have to try again next month. I had a massive row with them they really won't reset any device slots under any circumstances. They opted to give me 50% off everything for a year rather than reset my device slots lol...

Lunat1k seems to have gone quiet on this one, plenty of betas to ver38 getting chucked out but still no skygo joy, would prefer to have the latest version installed rather than 2.3?

Can you update us on how the works going on the newer version Lunat1k?

jam206 commented 11 years ago

Sky are way ahead of the game and the few people bothering to hack it dont have enough man hours to do it only for sky to patch it 2 weeks later. Lost cause to be honest.

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

ok before I get started I don't want to offend others who have been patient. but certain comments I just feel that I need to express my thoughts/feelings because this gets really annoying sometimes.

  1. Don't assume me or any other devs don't care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. You assume that patching an application is easy. Just like jailbreaking there is a lot of research, testing, and coding involved. Finding how they do JB detection is not easy especially when the tools I use is not free. I have to pay for a lot of these tools and they cost thousands of dollars. For example IDA with ARM support is around 3000 USD.
  3. Even with these tools companies are very good at hiding how they do JB detection. You can have the best tools in the world but it takes human logic to decipher these things.
  4. Usually I've i'm quiet it's because my research is taking a while because of the complexity of the issue.
  5. I actually have the assistance of various JB Devs to help me figure out some of the things that needs to be patch. IE I'm giving a lot of credit to Saurik for some recent hooking stuff we came up with to assist in JB Detection patching. In fact i'm waiting on some code changes from saurik to be able to support skygo. Again people have to be patient because even when he makes his changes I have to research and test to make sure they are working properly.
  6. For foreign apps its very difficult to work with. I can't get it from the AppStore. Apps like SkyGo is restricted to the UK which means I have to use a VPN or proxy to even try to connect to debug things. Even if I get a reliable connection it normally times out to where I can't even troubleshoot the JB Detection, hence not finding how it's actually working.
  7. I'm trying to get xcon to a point of generically handling JB detection. I really don't want to have to release an update evertime X application has an update. I've actually gotten a bunch of those apps in that category and I haven't had to update them specifically in a while.

Finally. I do this on my free time and as a hobby. I don't owe anyone anything. If anything people should be donating to me for my time but I don't ask for it. I'm not sorry if things are not patched as quickly as they assume should be patched. Point being is that don't make the comment that I've gone quiet and make people assume I don't care. With the number of apps growing doing JB detection, including chrome and official twitter app, and the methods of how they detect is getting more complex it takes much more time. Just like jailbreaking in general it really is a cat and mouse game.

jam206 commented 11 years ago

I think most people understand that mate they just want the occasional update to know its not forgotten about. Cheers

Is 2.3.0 still the latest copy?

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

Well if 2.3.0 is still the latest here is an update. When I revisited this, this is definitely one of those that I need saurik to make a change to substrate before I can support it. However I got some advise from planetbeing on a potiental temporary solution. I'm not familiar with his suggestion but I will be testing it out. Long story short until I can get past this road block you guys will still just have to be patient unfortunately.

tomdotcom commented 11 years ago

No. An update came out on 21st January.

It's now on 3.0.0.

I don't know how to get to an .IPA file once I have downloaded it, but if you/someone can give me instructions, I could send you a copy.

Below is a post by antlane. I can confirm that downloading the 2 files (sky go 3 and xcon 38-1), installing and respringing works on iOS 6.1.2 iPhone 4S with evasi0n and appsync 5+.

The problem with beta 1 is apps such as Chrome crash. If I update to either beta 12 or the latest (13) to fix Chrome, Sky Go displays an error message "Video Unavailable. Unable to connect to stream - Please try again. (Error:9)"

IMG_2649

So it seems we must choose Sky Go or other Apps such as Chrome which crash on xcon beta 1,Twitter,Instagram which I think also have problems on the older Xcon.

Antlane said:

Here are a couple of links for an old version of SkyGo which has been patched so that it appears to be v3 along with a version of XCon that works. Looks like the very latest beta of XCon breaks something with SkyGo which results in an error code 9 - video unavailable. NOW FIXED as of beta 14

http://rapidshare.com/files/2923845727/Sky%20Go(v3.0.0)%20-%20m-tek.ipa xcon can be downloaded from this site. no link needed

tomdotcom commented 11 years ago

gicronin, when using Sky Go 3 and xCon 38-1, do you have access to the new Sky Go features (downloading shows to watch later offline)?

If so, I might have to switch my setup around. I can live without the official Twitter client and Chrome.

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

@gicronin Thanks I'll take a peek at it. I have some special hooking going on based on what skygo 2.x was doing. If beta 1 is working I can probably strip that out. I'll take a peek.

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

I have stripped out the skygo specific code that I spoke of. Can you guys test v3 with this version.

deb file http://goo.gl/Ft50P

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

Here V3 is starting to look more and more like the DirectTV code and nice part about that is that I haven't had to do DirectTV specific code for quite a while. Hopefully SkyGo is finally in that category.

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

Oh I forgot to mention. Just like DirectTV be sure to completely unintall and reinstall SkyGo as if it was never installed.

Lunat1k commented 11 years ago

@gicronin I forgot to mention you don't need to link old betas to rapidshare. I keep them in the changelog. The V38 changelog is in Issue #80

tomdotcom commented 11 years ago

Just removing the patched version of Sky Go and xCon as I type...

tomdotcom commented 11 years ago

Am I testing it with the official version of Sky Go (v 3.0.0) or the patched old version of Sky Go that looks like v 3.0.0 (the one gicronin linked to above)?
