This is a placeholder for discussion.

Also the bower.json file defaults the current project's license to MIT.

@danbernier are there any particular licensing issues we should be aware of vis a vis newhaven.io's nonprofit status? Do we need to use MIT as a license, or GPL, etc?

Also we should add a LICENSE to clarify this.

danbernier commented 8 years ago

I don't think the nonprofit status affects our choice of license, but IANAL. Let's look into it.

I'm afk and github is blocked on the Yale guest wifi, so i can't see...which license did you suggest, @sukima? The code for the blog of course can and should be OSS, but I'd like to think before making the content open/copyleft.

Also, whatever we decide, yes, let's put it in a LICENSE file.

@danbernier the bower.json currently defaults the license to MIT.

Let's move the discussion vis a vis copyleft content to #organizing on the slack. cc @sukima

danbernier commented 8 years ago

Wise choice @treznick.

sukima commented 6 years ago

Can we close this PR? It is just one more on my growing open-but-will-never-merge list.

jnimety commented 6 years ago

@sukima I just noticed that we have two license files from @treznick PR, can you change the Licensing section you added to reference those files instead of specifying a license?
