makes masthead buttons grey
makes links grey sitewide
makes main page background grey, and each content pane a "panel" with a white background.

I removed the page2 css problem directly on master just now since it had already been reverted :sparkles:

Do we also want the gray background for individual blog posts too? I just noticed that's the only part of the site where it isn't showing up.
