Do we need rserver on app nodes? #72

Currently I'm aware of three alternatives of how to run R sessions on remove nodes (such as app nodes):

use normal ssh connection, and then use R from the terminal
connect to app node with -Y and start rstudio (to have a graphical interface).
use R within anaconda, start jupyter, and connect via browser (I don't like this as R is less well supported by anaconda than python).

There are two other potential options:
