This is to kick off a discussion about different locations for v4.

One great suggestion from the closing panel was to make it adjacent to another conference outside the bitcoin world.

G had a good suggestion to have it before the Oslo Freedom Forum next May. Pros: adjacent area where nostr is really important. Cons: it's Europe again.

Other ideas:

conferences for musicians or artists
music festivals

Would love to hear more suggestions.

What was the venue and what made it so special?

it was at a beautiful outdoor venue called awake in costa rica. check the website and you'll see why we all loved it. i can't wait for nostrica part dos. i'm going to stay for at least a month if we ever do it there again.

I'd love to see Nostr stand on its own without piggybacking onto Bitcoin or a Bitcoin community to try to onboard the next wave of people outside the Bitcoin conversion. Music festivals or art festivals adjacent locations and time frames would be interesting and help to facilitate more growth IMO. Plus, it gives us a chance to orange pill them in the process. Remember, the purple pill helps the orange pill go down. As for the location, I like the Australian suggestion. I just got it.

Ubud, Bali would be an amazing next Nostr unconference event.

Had a brief chat with the sweet people of @Bitcoin Jungle and we are all agreeing we are ready for integration of a more counter culture vibe.

Was at the Ancient Futures festival some years ago and it was amazing.

Not sure about Bali Spirit Fest but maybe the Nostr event attaches to another event happening there. I like Ubud but there are definitely also other destinations in Bali to explore and an Indonesian Bitcoin conference that seems to be underway too. There's huge nomad entrepreneur artists expat crowd in Bali.

Australia, pro we can have Julian Assange attend in person since he cannot leave this country, also it’s never been held in Oz, loads of nostriches would love to visit Oz, beautiful Sydney with great weather, accommodation, things to do and see! Con- there's no other events except Bitcoin Alive in Syd in around March to partner with but this Nostr event can stand alone!

Voting for Nostralia - Sydney would be good as it's middle ground for all the Australian's and would be a very good meeting ground for all Nostriches world-wide I feel. I'm in Melbourne and still wouldn't mind Sydney... having said that I will no doubt travel anywhere in the world for the next (un)conference.

Australia is expensive, but for those who have never visited, the nature opportunities here and in new zealand are pretty special.

Also home of julian assange and somw early cypherphunk history.

Nostralia! I vote for Sydney, Australia. There is a strong community here, the wildlife is amazing, great food, wine, and beaches! But I’d vote for Sept-Oct-Nov-Dec, when the weather is warm and perfect! I’m in Canberra, Australia, which is only a few hours from Sydney -so I’m keen to help. Also CheatCode is here this year in Sydney in October.
