This is to kick off a discussion about different locations for v4.

One great suggestion from the closing panel was to make it adjacent to another conference outside the bitcoin world.

G had a good suggestion to have it before the Oslo Freedom Forum next May. Pros: adjacent area where nostr is really important. Cons: it's Europe again.

Other ideas:

conferences for musicians or artists
music festivals

Would love to hear more suggestions.

My vote is for #nostraires 🇦🇷

Here's why:

Best steak and wine
Great venues, vibrant city with plenty to see and do
Many walkable, green, safe areas
Cheap! Definitely cheaper than all previous locations
Visa-free for 100+ countries (see https://www.migraciones.gov.ar/accesible/indexdnm.php?visas#U)
Day trip options, or take advantage of AEP (an airport located in the heart of the city) to visit other local destinations
Experience first hand a society that endured decades of populism and hyperinflation!

Best weather: March-April or September to December

Depending on the month, maybe piggyback off LaBitConf 2025 (Bitcoin conference, https://labitconf.com) or Nerdearla (a free, world-class event in software/tech/science that had over 10,000 in person participants in 2023, https://nerdear.la/en/)
