At the moment every change to manual borks thing for translators as it now means their translation out of date (which in turns mean sphinx does not translate correctly).
This could be solved if translators worked off a release branch (though we would still have the issue that the english version would have diverged from translators version).
I'd suggest therefore that we create a v1.0 and freeze it to content changes (except typos etc).
