During writing it seemed like references to link definitions had to be defined before the definitions, but I guess that's not the case. Sorry for that!
Concerning reading ReST: I assume more people will read the text in HTML/PDF/EPUB than in ReST. I've also used ReST before and wrote a Mac viewer for it, and I would use separately defined links only when using them more than once in the text, which is not the case here for "Our wiki", "half an hour" and "larger tasks", but I haven't touched that.
