Too much white space between banner image and tab bar #405

I can't figure out where this extra white space is coming from. It doesn't seem to be padding or margin, but I'd like to get rid of it.

It looks like an easy solution is to set the margin-bottom for banner-wrap to -3px, but I can't figure out why the space is there in the first place
