There are updates to the current style setup in the latest version of v1 of the generator that are not present in v2. This issue is to broadly ensure that v2 uses the latest setup for styles from v1, but specifically I noticed this when examining the output of _variables.scss from v2.
If v2 work was based on a past version of v1, we should also generally cross-check all of current v1 against v2 to make sure that no updated functionality is getting left behind.
