This appears to have been resolved, which has been confirmed by HSBC. Will add additional information here on the nature of the incident if I get any further information.
We've been able to confirm that the incident is due to a problem with the Open Banking Directory. Some ASPSPs (Nationwide & HSBCG) require a webservice that OBIE are responsible for to remain up, and "fail closed" when this webservice is unavailable.
Since at least 16:29 today, HSBC has been returning a
502
response with body{"description":"Bad Gateway"}
for all requests to the client credentials endpoint.Without client credentials, all AISP services have been unavailable.
