I've never seen "group" so "chat" makes sense to me.
Similar to other chat UI considerations, it's simpler for development if we stick to what FluffyChat is doing. If we have a really clear reason we need to make Pangea Chat different, particularly if there's something about it's use as a learning app then it makes sense to make and maintain the change, but I'm starting to feel that the "group" vs "chat" distinction is not something we've improved enough to warrant maintaining this difference.
FluffyChat does have inconsistencies in its use of chat vs group. I'd like to focus our energy on documenting these and submitting a change to core FluffyChat rather than maintaining the distinction in our code alone.
We just want to be consistent to avoid confusion internally and to customers. Space and Group (or Group Chat) are fine. But what about the idea of Room that Wilson mentioned?
At some point, we changed the FluffyChat copy from "Groups" to "Chats." I don't know why we did this now but it's creating some confusion and I think we should probably go back.
Is it just that one piece of copy that we need to change or are there others? Is there still a compelling reason to have our copy be different from FluffyChat for this?
