try again with data instead of buffer~ and see if that works
i tried it with data and had the same issue. will hold off on this one until the changes being worked on by the rnbo team are out
worked around the issue by storing the data in a list
i'm trying to store a list of random numbers so they can be used by emask for variation. the reason to do this rather than to just use noise inside of the object is that i want to get consistent results for the same parameter values (see https://github.com/pdmeyer/seq/issues/16)
the way i've done this is to create a wav file called
emask-variation.wav
that is 65534 samples long and is filled with random values between 0 and 1. inside the rnbo patch, i putbuffer~ variation @file emask-variation.wav
. the reason i didn't usedata
here is that data would not read the file - it just produced a constant value of 0. when peeked. meanwhile, regularbuffer
threw an error to the console about the rnbo buffer not being 32-bit.the version of the external used in the patch below can be found on the emask-issue branch
