Next release timeline #196

The last release, v15, was more than half a year ago. Are there some milestones that need to be finished first or could a v16 be created? The reason I am asking is that I would like to bump up the version in Buildroot, mainly because of the f2fs support I need/use for my system image generation. I know I could use the commit hash instead, but IMO it would be better to stick to a release tag if possible when updating the genimage package in Buildroot.
