[Google Pixel 1] Fingerprint scanner not working

As the title says, the fingerprint scanner is not working. Starting the fingerprint enrollment setup crashes the settings app.

Smartphone:

• Device: Pixel 1 (32GB)
• Build Flavor: system-squeak-arm64-ab-vndklite-gapps-secure.img.xz
• Version v415

I also always get an "there's an internal problem with your device" popup when the device boots.

This seems to be related to AVB. I patched the boot.img file to disable AVB but I still get the popup every time.
