hi, there is no strict time synchronization, it is only necessary to fill the camera perspective with the lidar's perspective as much as possible. This is what you need to pay attention to in the installation location. I believe there are many open source tools(such as, SensorsCalibration etc.) for the calibration of both. In the end, however, only points within the camera's viewing angle range may be processed. You can try using multiple cameras or omnidirectional cameras, but I haven't tried it, so the theory should work.
