Selection Connection supports add_timer #95

Which means all this threading stuff shouldn't be needed. I should replace it all and hopefully massively clean up the data_logger class.

Also that should be renamed since it is also used by the DAQ interface to schedule regular acquisitions and may be used for other things in the future.

add_timer is now in use. The renaming of data_logger has not been done... I'll still think about that
