As a live musician I want to apply filters and effects to individual tracks whilst they are being played.

playback

reverb is most important, but many amps have it. Voice and drums may almost always have reverb.
delay is not often on amps.
individual tracks AND/OR all output.

recording

to reduce noise from cars and trains... a low pass filter may be good.
