Summary:

Added the benchmarking script in the testthat directory (see bottom of issue #15; readLines is the fastest).
Renamed instances of read.Witec to read.txt
Renamed RStudio project file

Actually, once this passes the checks I will just go ahead and merge this branch and start working on issue #12
