Let's just sit one moment on the sending. I first have to read these two articles: http://www.thetaxadviser.com/newsletters/2017/apr/cryptocurrency-taxes.html https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-14-21.pdf

It could be also FYI

We've also talk to Evan, because he attaches only value to RHOC when the whole platform is in place. This is bullshit of course, because RHOC will gain value pure on hope and believe.

BTW your defined price is fine with me and will go into the books like that.

@lapin7 https://github.com/lapin7 thank you, yes I have been reading over them carefully, RHOC specifically is interesting, if there is no market value determining the value, then I believe it will have to be the latest SOW's that determine the basis for tax purposes, because the SOW's are effectively the "exchange" and have a USD value to them. What we were doing(until I made my unique deal) was marking SOW's with RHOC value at whatever the AMP value was when the agreement originated.

Since RHOC have been traded successfully on etherdelta, that might be a basis as well, which that basis may benefit all of us because I believe there at something like .0006 ETH, which is .50 USD currently.

Definitely need to talk through this more but i'm ok with holding off at this point.

The RHOCs are ERC20 tokens which, AFAIK, were created to act as a temporary store of value. Everybody is looking forward to the RChain native token, the REV. But from what I hear, that is a year – or more... – away. In the fintech sector that's too long to make predictions. Any scenarios will be based on an array of assumptions strung together.

In the meantime we should align on how we want to utilize the RHOCs. They need to be actively managed, otherwise they will lose their value.

patrick727 commented 7 years ago

@lapin7 I can totally understand Evans point of view and its much needed to maneuver the business dynamics.

Right so my SOW is a fixed RHOC amount until 8/31 that is giving it it's unique price basis. What we are talking about is essentially the reverse.

...you know the details of it. I'm talking for future budgeting and bounties, and re-reimbursements, etc.

Cheers

lapin7 commented 7 years ago

Yes, I'm fine with that. But I'm not going to send the mail to Bittrex from an @rchain.coop mail address. That's because Ed said that officers of Rchain are quit silent about registration RHOC on exchanges.

I agree with gather all necessary information required to have the token listed on exchanges, however it should be noted that while price discovery is important, large exchanges are not the only mechanism to achieve this goal.

Both Maker and Digix have been sold (MKR by the Maker team in limited quantities) on Oasis and EtherDelta with low volumes where sellers have maintained asks within a range of parity to Ether. There is less noise about the price/market cap with steady appreciation. Today, MKR & DGD are valued at $163 and $85 respectively.

Edit: Removed the comment regarding the RHOC to REV conversion..it is 1 to 1.

lapin7 commented 7 years ago

Hi @kdvalentine, So it's possible for me to place RHOC sell orders on Oasis?

kdvalentine commented 7 years ago

Hi @lapin7, yes you can place RHOC sell orders on Oasis or EtherDelta.

  1. Install Google Chrome

  2. Install the MetaMask Chrome Extension

    1. Click "Add to Chrome" to Install MetaMask as Google Chrome extension.

    2. Click "Add Extension" to confirm and MetaMask will be added

    3. Create a new wallet by clicking the MetaMask logo and agree to the MetaMask terms and Conditions

    4. Click "Create a new vault" with a strong password and click "OK"

    5. Metamask will show you your seed. Copy and store those 12 worlds, without them you cannot restore your wallet.

    6. In the upper right corner, change to the "Ethereum Main Net" & fund your account

    7. You will need to be logged into MetaMask to use either Oasis or EtherDelta

  3. For OASIS

    1. Go to Oasis

      1. Before you trade you will need to "deposit" ETH. Because ETH does not follow the EIP-20 standard the token needs to get 'wrapped' in a special smart contract first to turn it into an EIP-20 token. This is because ETH existed before the EIP-20 standard existed.

        1. Go to wrap/unwrap and wrap ETH to turn it into W-ETH.

        2. Go to Trade and place new orders or trade existing orders by clicking on an open order on the order book to buy/sell into it.

        3. The first time you make a transaction you will be prompted to set your allowance.

      2. The RHOC market is https://oasisdex.com/#trade/W-ETH/RHOC

  4. For ETHERDELTA

    1. Go to EtherDelta

    2. In the Upper left frame titled "Balance" deposit ETH

    3. In the frame below titled "Volume", select the ETH/RHOC Pair

    4. Place Buy or Sell order in the "New Order" Frame

  5. Caveats

    1. Low Liquidity
patrick727 commented 7 years ago

@kdvalentine thanks for the brief how-to's, well formatted

lapin7 commented 7 years ago

Thx @kdvalentine. It was clear and I have placed some orders on Oasis.

The board of RChain doesn't feel like registering RHOC on an exchange. They hope more or less that people create in a bottom-up way a market for RHOC. Now there are about 300 people that own RHOC, maybe they are interested in helping to get RHOC on exchanges. We can send out a direct mail with this content:

If you're interested in having RHOC on an exchange please raise requests "here" and "here". In the mean time you sell your RHOC at oasis and etherdelta. With below the manual of @kdvalentine . I can also ask @magicmirage to make a video based on the manual. But before he can do that he has to fill out at least form "SoW" and maybe "Job application" if he feels like. @kdvalentine @jimscarver @plantether @kitblake could do the same, in order to reward them for their efforts. 🥇 That would be also a good test if that procedure works.

lapin7 commented 7 years ago

Hi @magicmirage ,

Please communicate through github and not with personal emails. Like that all interested people can follow the progress.

Great to hear from you. This SoW is a try out. Let's see how far we come.

Start date: 06-01-2017 Duration: 1 Proposal nr: 1

Please create an Epic under https://github.com/rchain/Members/issues/43. Something like "How to deal on exchanges like Oasis or EtherDelta"

Please collaborate with @kdvalentine and slack@nathanwindsor in order to align things. He's making a video about RChain.

The talk mix is here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwX0krsxHncTRUxBVktEdDZHWEk

Once this SoW process is clear. We're going to start with our Decentralized Governance model, i.e. Project proposal, Budget allocation, Funding, Execution.

The video manual about "How to deal on exchanges like Oasis or EtherDelta" could be an example.

vamvari commented 7 years ago

Changelly just got back to me after i followed up again. they have asked for answers to the following:

1) What is your product plan? How you are going to compete with other currencies? 2) Do you have wallets or any other services that could potentially allow instant conversion from bitcoin? How many monthly users do you have? We have an instant exchange API and payment widget that can be integrated into many wallets or other services. 3) Do you have your own blockchain technology? 4) Are you already listed on Poloniex or Bittrex? What is your daily volume.

  1. Install Google Chrome

  2. Install the MetaMask Chrome Extension or the Parity Ethereum Wallet

    1. Install MetaMask

      1. Click "Add to Chrome" to Install MetaMask as Google Chrome extension.

      2. Click "Add Extension" to confirm and MetaMask will be added

      6. In the upper right corner, change to the "Ethereum Main Net" & fund your account

      7. You will need to be logged into MetaMask to use either Oasis or EtherDelta

    2. Install Parity

      1. Download the installer that corresponds with your operating system

      2. Once installed, Parity will prompt you to install the Google Chrome extension

      3. The first time Parity runs it will open a browser window at http://127.0.0.1:8180 and you will be prompted to create a new Ethereum account. After account setup, the blockchain will need to fully sync before using a decentralized exchange. Ethereum clients use a listener (TCP) port and a discovery (UDP) port, both on 30303 by default. To speed the discovery of nodes, make sure port forwarding for UDP/TCP is enabled on port 30303

      4. Fund your account

      5. Parity must be running (the Chrome extension will be ‘green’) to trade on the decentralized exchange

  3. Oasis Dex

    1. Go to Oasis

      1. Before you trade you will need to "deposit" ETH. Because ETH does not follow the EIP-20 standard the token needs to get 'wrapped' in a special smart contract first to turn it into an EIP-20 token. This is because ETH existed before the EIP-20 standard existed.

    2. In the Upper left frame titled "Balance" deposit ETH

    3. In the frame below titled "Volume", select the ETH/RHOC Pair

    4. Place Buy or Sell order in the "New Order" Frame

  5. 0x OTC

    1. Go to 0x OTC

    2. Place a Buy order by choosing the ERC20 token you want to purchasing by clicking the icon. Choose the option to add "Other ERC20 Token"

      1. Add the token name: RChain

      2. Add the token symbol: RHOC

      3. Add the contract address: 0x168296bb09e24a88805cb9c33356536b980d3fc5

      4. Add the Token decimals: 8

    3. Enter in the amount you want to sell & buy

    4. Sign the transaction hash to place your order

  6. Caveats

    1. Low Liquidity
kdvalentine commented 7 years ago

I updated the information to include how to use Parity. I also included directions for placing an order on the 0x OTC. I don't know what the trading liquidity is but it may be a platform that will gain traction given the popularity of the ICO.

youfoundron commented 7 years ago

any moves on this?

lapin7 commented 7 years ago

The only thing missing on the Bittrex and Bitsquare form is the answer to this question:

If you are an ETH token: Code review - Was a code review performed on your smart contract? Greg Meredith and Adam Scislowicz performed a code review on the smart contract.By whom? Please provide a link or send us a document of the results

On the other hand the volume of trades on EtherDelta and Oasisdex is growing and the rate seems to stabilise around 0.0008 ETH (20170825).

Also with respect to the discussion about the low added value of getting RHOC listed on known exchanges like Bittrex, Poloniex, BitSquare, we might consider that no further effort is needed, meaning: it stays like it is at the moment. RHOC can only be traded on EtherDelta and Oasisdex.

At the moment there's only one entry for budget allocation on this issue #29. However, I think it would be nice to reward @kdvalentine for his time spent on creating a manual for Parity and EtherDelta. So we need two more Activists that make an entry for issue #29. Otherwise it has no budget allocated.

kitblake commented 7 years ago

I added a budget too.

Looks like Bittrex or Poloniex listing is now the high priority. I will follow them up

NB: Bittrex requires an Enhanced Verified Account of team member registered on Bittrex. This team member must be either a core developer or a major shareholder (10% or more) of a company that backs the development of the coin. That member will need to submit identifying documents to get their account Enhanced Verified.

lapin7 commented 6 years ago

I don't think there's a shareholder that has > 10% Probably a board member has to back the process of registering.

Plz ask this question to all board members

With respect to Hitbtc and probably other exchanges, there's a need for official communicators on:

Who feels like contacting these persons? Which RChain email address and account can be used to moderate these channels? And who feels like doing that moderation?

patrick727 commented 6 years ago

@lapin7

In regard to reddit, it's going to take some time to control r/RChain, but I believe we secured r/RChain_Cooperative or r/RChain_Official. It'd be nice if someone checked and secured as many of those as possible.

Check "Community Driver" issue and we can add bitcointalk to that list. I believe there are some volunteers so far and will be spending sometime soon on securing these channels, but please help.

In regards to RHOCs listed on exchanges. The co-op has no intention of funding listings on exchanges because of the co-op's position on the RHOC token.

momchilov commented 6 years ago

@patrick727 I've got access to /r/RChain. I would like to form a group of members, who would join the moderators collective and to agree on the principles of governance.

@patrick727 While I understand that the co-op has no intention to fund listings, I feel it will create better visibility for RHOC to have the correct and updated supply / market cap of RHOC updated on Coinmarketcap through this form :

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeqpM6DVuxNRJ43oD90fCsm8UltR9oIiFaVxxqt3ch_eJ5Dlw/formResponse

This will require the following information the complete the submission :

Circulating Supply You MUST provide documentation that explains: (1) The initial distribution of coins (2) How many coins are in reserve for the founders, devs, or other purposes with associated addresses Your answer

Total Supply Provide a URL that shows the total supply of coins in real time For example, Dogecoin's total supply of coins can be found at: http://dogechain.info/chain/Dogecoin/q/totalbc. If any burns have occurred, please specify.

Is there anyone who can provide me with the updated numbers from the clarified results of the vote and I could assist with the submission ?

Mervyn853 commented 6 years ago

@lapin7 @patrick727 @momchilov

As for Reddit, @derek7272 has secured the r/RChain_Official and a few of us have volunteered to moderate that. I feel that the old /r/RChain subreddit has a lot of FUD from the old Synereo days which we will be better off starting from scratch.

Will be great if we can further this discussion on Issue #115 to coordinate our messaging across the different communication channels.

momchilov commented 6 years ago

@Mervyn853 The FUD can only be removed by the moderators. I'm looking for volunteers. Preferably, one working for the project who can provide accurate insight, as part of the /r/RChain subreddit moderator team.

@momchilov yes I totally agree. One thing that I agree with is that a co-op director or officer should have the admin control of social accounts. Are you able to do that?

We have some people interested in moderating. Let's check cooperators issue and we can get them started.

There will be rewards for the mods and activists that support the subreddit.

(1) The initial distribution of coins

Initial supply 1,000,000,000 Burned 129,336,426 Total supply 870,663,574 Treasury RChain 1 200,000,000 Treasury RChain 2 488,700,379 Total in Treasury 688,700,379 In circulation 181,963,195

(2) How many coins are in reserve for the founders, devs, or other purposes with associated addresses

Coinmarketcap requires me to provide documentation for the following:

Circulating Supply You MUST provide documentation that explains: (1) The initial distribution of coins (2) How many coins are in reserve for the founders, devs, or other purposes with associated addresses

*Could you assist in providing the documentation for this? I will also require the finalised information about the *Private Sale of September in order to update the Bittrex Submission document.

Thanks!

Best Regards, Mervyn

Hi @lapin7 ,

Thanks for those details and sorry for the late response. I have informed Coinmarketcap of the updated token supply and will update when I hear back from them.

Also will assist to update the Bittrex submission form.

Cheers!

Alright, just got an update from Coinmarketcap, token total and circulating supply have been updated. Also, managed to get them to update the Medium and Github links for better references / backlinks.

I have also made a submission to cryptocompare pending review.

On the issue of exchange listings, I am discussing with some exchanges that are open to listing without payments.

@patrick727 Are we firm on " no intention of funding listings on exchanges " as I am in discussion with contacts that have links to Bittrex and that will require an additional compliance fee for listing.

I think this might be beneficial to everyone since contractors / members get remunerated in RHOCs and ED seems to have very little liquidity to accept the RHOC sales.

@Mervyn853 Bravo! We would very much like to be on Bittrex so (it's not my decision but) I think we'll make the compliance fee happen.
