This document is actually "Bureau circular no. 2 2nd edition", so the DOI identifier should be "NBS.CIRC.2e2". The "item_number" correctly states "NBS CIRC 2e2".
Recommendation: change DOI to 10.6028/NBS.CIRC.2e2
.
This is actually a "supplement" to CIRC 24 Edition 7. See screenshot: https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/circ/nbscircularsup.pdf
Recommendation: The DOI should have been 10.6028/NBS.CIRC.24e7sup
. Its metadata also needs to be updated.
This is "supplement 2" to CIRC 24 Edition 7.
The given URL is not accessible: http://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/circ/nbscircularsupJun1925-Jun1926.pdf
Recommendation: The item number should be changed from "NBS CIRC supJun1925-Jun1926" to "NBS CIRC 24e7sup2", and the DOI should be updated accordingly. The URL needs to be fixed.
This is "supplement 3" to CIRC 24 Edition 7.
Recommendation: The item number should be changed from "NBS CIRC supJun1925-Jun1927" to "NBS CIRC 24e7sup3", and the DOI should be updated accordingly.
This is published in July 1922 as a supplement to CIRC 24 Edition 6 published in the same month. This should be called "CIRC 24e6sup".
You can see that CIRC 24e6 ends with S429 https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/circ/nbscircular24e6.pdf
And 24e6sup starts with S430. https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/circ/nbscircular24supJuly1922.pdf
While this document does not refer explicitly to the edition number of CIRC 24, it is clearly pointing to CIRC 24e6.
Recommendation: Update item number and DOI to reflect "NBS CIRC 24e6sup"
This is published in 1924 as a supplement to CIRC 24 Edition 6 after the previous supplement (1922), but before the next Edition 7.
https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/circ/nbscircular24supJan1924.pdf
It also starts with S430 (same as the previous supplement):
But ends further at S477 (the previous supplement ends at S441):
This should be considered the Supplement 2 to CIRC 24e6.
Recommendation: Update item number and DOI to reflect "NBS CIRC 24e6sup2"
These references
NBS.CIRC.sup
,NBS.CIRC.supJun1925-Jun1926
,NBS.CIRC.supJun1925-Jun1927
don't have docnumber. Is it possible to have PubID without docnumber?Another question is: how to handle 2 dates in the last couple of references?
UPDATE There are also references like
NBS.RPT.Apr-Jun1948
