Perf - bio.rfcx.org takes too long to load

Describe the bug

When originally opening the page, it took a long time before the first page is visible (~20 seconds showing loading indicator and ~5 seconds showing no data)

I encountered several performance related issues with the bio reports today when I was trying to demo it to a partner. The page bio.rfcx.org took about 30 seconds to load

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open DevTools and select Network
2. Check Disable cache
3. Open bio.rfcx.org

Expected behavior The page load quickly around 5 seconds.

@koonchaya Can you please test this task on the staging side?

On spotlight page when I change the project to Puerto rico project, the species will not show up. I had to click on dashboard page first then go back to spotlight page to make it shows up.
