This reminded me that common gpos and gsub shaping output may be required for some language support.

While "common gpos and gsub shaping output may be required for some language support" I think systematically including problematic kerns is out of scope, since it is to a large degree an individual design consideration for each font. That said, if some languages have very problematic combinations, this could be added as design_note.

For now this is out of scope; or rather, I'd prefer the scope not to expand to this.
