gate doesn't open with homey #48

Closed flori27 closed 9 months ago

Hi,

an electrician installed my Remootio 3. I've set up the Remootio app. The gate can be controlled with Bluetooth and WiFi without problems. I've added my remootio device in Homey, manually added it with adding the IP, name, serial number, 2 API keys. When clicking on it in homey, nothing happens. All the keys, serial number,... where copied and pasted, so no mismatch of characters. What can I do to make it work?

Have you gone through the Prerequisites and the Troubleshooting in the readme?

Do you have a garage door icon in the homey app? Or is there an error message there?

If there is a garage door icon there, do you hear the relay in the Remootio device click when you click the garage door icon? If so, I'm guessing you have chosen the wrong driver (Output configuration)

You can not connect to the Remootio device trough WiFi on the Remootio app and through the homey app at the same time. The Remootio device has a limitation on one WiFi connection. Could you please try to fully close the Remootio app, then reboot the Remootio device either by power cycle or reboot, and then reboot the homey app.

Please let me know how it goes

Hi,

thank you for the quick response. Yes, I had read the readme (same text as on the website of homey with info about the app). Yes, I have a garage door icon. I don't hear the relay switching. I then have closed the remootio app on my phone ( the only device running the app), restarted the remootio device and that resulted in a red exclamation mark on the device in Homey. I've removed the device in homey en add it again. But the garage door still isn't opening.

Can you send me a diagnostics report from the app?

Which driver did you choose to use when you added the device?

And which output configuration is your Remootio device setup as in the Remootio app? Can be found in the Remootio app -> Gear icon -> Output configuration

flori27 commented 10 months ago

What do you mean by "which driver"? The only thing I can choose, is the output configuration. I've chosen the second one, output 1 : free relay

flori27 commented 10 months ago

btw, the configuration is not shown when clicking on the gear icon, only other info like api info, ip, remootio version, serial nr, ...

By which driver I mean which Remootio device you chose when you added the Remootio device in Homey.

The second one is actually Output 1: Free relay output, Output 2: gate impulse control. If you chose this the Remootio device has to be setup with the same Output configuration in the Remootio app. And to operate the gate from the homey app you have to choose Output 2: gate impulse control from the drop down on the device in the homey app.

Also, for the Homey app to be able to control the Remootio device, the Remootio device must be configured to one of the configurations mentioned in the prerequisites

This sounds really weird..

When I open my Remootio app on the phone, and choose the gear icon in the right bottom, i get in to the menu with many options. One of these is Output configuration

Wait, it sound like you have checked in the Homey app. You have to check in the Remootio app on your phone

About the configuration. I was consulting from the webbrowser. In the smartphone app, the output configuration is shown, in the webbrowser version, it isn't. I removed the device from Homey, added it again with configuration "gate impulse congtrol", but it didn't help (at first). Then I tried with "advanced settings" -> "is sensor logic flipped" setting to "on", and it worked but the status was showing the opposite. Then I've set "is sensor logic flipped" setting to "off" again and It still worked. Strange, but I'm glad It's working now. Thank you very much for your support.

Out of curiosity, you say you consulted from the webbrowser. But as far as i know Remootio has no user interface in the browser, other than the device access token view. Where did you check?

I'm glad its working as intended for you

Hi,

I meant the webbrowser version of Homey.

Ah, yeah. The homey web version does not show advanced settings on devices
