Project 1 - babyFlicks

babyFlicks is a movies app using the The Movie Database API.

Time spent: 12 hours spent in total

User Stories

The following required functionality is complete:

• [y] User can view a list of movies currently playing in theaters from The Movie Database.
• [y] Poster images are loaded using the UIImageView category in the AFNetworking library.
• [y] User sees a loading state while waiting for the movies API.
• [y] User can pull to refresh the movie list.

The following optional features are implemented:

• [y] User sees an error message when there's a networking error.
• [y] Movies are displayed using a CollectionView instead of a TableView.
• [y] User can search for a movie.
• [y] All images fade in as they are loading.
• [ ] Customize the UI.

The following additional features are implemented:

• [ ] List anything else that you can get done to improve the app functionality!
• Tapping on the screen to put the keyboard away

Project 2 - babyFlicks

Name of your app is a movies app displaying box office and top rental DVDs using The Movie Database API.

Describe any challenges encountered while building the app.

The network request wasn't calling properly. I stepped through the whole request with breakpoints. When it came to the block for pulling the data it just skipped it. The "Could not cast value of type 'babyFlicks.CollectionViewController' to 'UINavigationController'" error. I tried multiple fixes and couldn't get it to work.

My app was working, but a few errors inhibited me from completing it properly.
