Different types of works have different citation requirements - specifically ETD. The citation tool currently is the same for all works. I think with the addition of a couple fields when they are present in the metadata will make the citations more accurate for ETD.
Is there a way to find out what information is being pulled for each of the citations? They dont look correct to me and it would help to know what it is currently pulling.
Current errors with citations:
None of the citations appear to be using a date at all. Not for any work types. In the code it appears to use date_created which is what the generic and paper work types use for date, but no date gets put in.
Our ETD year field was meant to be mapped the same as other date fields, so all are mapped to dc:date (is that correct?) but the year field is NOT mapped to the hyku field date_created so even if that was working we would not get the date field for ETDs
For APA right now on the live site (but oddly not on my docker site) if you put the creator in lastname, first name the citation is backwards with the lastname shortened to first intial followed by first name. It should be Lastname followed by comma then the first initials. This is true for all APA author names not just ETD

------- below eventually will be the formats as they should be set up------
APA
Changes needed
For ETD we need a couple fields added so that if they are present in the work they get output into the citation but for works without these fields (non ETD) they do not
I dont know how to identify what fields are currently pulled, this is what a generic APA citation would include
We then would have the addition of the part in [ ] below. I am not sure yet about the "Atla Inst. Rep." part yet. Will update when i have confirmation.
MLA
It looks like it is including contributor but I dont see that as part of MLA citation style anywhere. Maybe this is meant to be for editor? which is only relevant for a book so I think should not be there
