Your favorite TV series binges? #39

I'm looking for a show to binge.

A TV series, like Deadwood, Fargo, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The West Wing, Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, The Wire -- these are some of my favorite classics. More recently: The Leftovers, Bojack Horseman, Mr Mercedes and Mr Robot.

I did something similar with podcasts, a couple of years ago, and the resulting website, podcatch.com, has been supplying me with great listening ever since. I have a hunch something similar could be done with TV series.

As with podcasts, I promise to share what I learn about bingeable TV, but it'll be different because TV series are different from podcasts.

Tell me what your top three all time favorite binges are, with a focus on ones other people might not know about.

I found Legion very well made (much better than all the other Marvel stuff), I enjoy Ballers very much (maybe because at the end is about people at work). Transparent is interesting too.

PS: I think about you and Deadwood every time I take a Piccadilly line train to Cockfosters ;->

Bojack of course, Stranger Things, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron First, though I skipped Jessica Jones. The Defenders of course. Man in the High Castle. Black Mirror. Deadwood was an all time fav too. Big Mouth

My top three would be:

  1. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: Based on the Douglas Adams character. Weird story, weird characters, more fun & entertaining than Twin Peaks.
  2. Psych: Comedy detective show. Hyper-observant guy pretends to be psychic.
  3. Grimm. Monster hunting type show. Some episodes are loosely based on fairy tails, but not in a literal way like Once Upon a Time (which I also liked).

Stranger Things I haven't seen mentioned and is really terrific. Archer is hilarious and very very irreverent. Master of None season 1 starts slow but really hits stride in season 2.

If I can think of any more "people might not know about" ones, I'll add them:

Most of my favs (stranger things, black mirror [!!]) have been mentioned already by others. But. What about:

Halt and catch fire People of Earth You, Me and the Apocalypse
