Settings on the TV listings don't seem to work right now - Movies are fine, load TV no go; reloaded, same thing.
Try reloading the BingeWorthy for TV page,
And choose Settings.. again.
It should work now.
v0.5.16.
All set - thanks!
Good morning movie fans!
The new, movie version of BingeWorthy, is ready for you to try out.
http://bingeworthy.io/movies/
The database is for real, not going to get reset (though it can, in case there are problems).
How to test
Click on links, look for ones that don't work.
There's a link to the TV version, in its new location, click links there.
Try rating programs in both places.
As always please report problems here asap. Thanks! :-)
Edit the settings, enable your public list, look in the Menu to see if it's there.
Here are my ratings.
The movie list
The criteria for movies being included is different from TV programs. To be included, a movie must be in one of these categories.
Currently in theaters in the NY.
Newly available or featured on Netflix.
Available through other means, such as BitTorrent, and popular.
The last category was added for the Louis C.K. movie, I Love You Daddy. It's available on BitTorrent, but is not going out through commercial distribution in 2017.
Over time, the criteria for movies will change. For example, I don't know if we'll remove movies if they fall out of distribution. And just because a movie isn't new doesn't mean people aren't watching it on streaming services. I want to learn. This is the place where I want to start.
I use Google for movies
I hate Google, but their search includes showtimes. So it's a very quick way to find out where you can see a movie now.
Movie blogs
I experimented with adding discussion features but backed out of it for this release. Neither Disqus or Facebook are up to what I have in mind.
The other choice is to keep a diary of movies you've watched with your reviews, for other people to read. I'm thinking about how that might work. In the meantime, we're at the beginning of the best time of year for movies, and I want to get this out and in use.
