i cant get into vr because f6 and the A button dont work #26

I have done everything to try and load in but the f6 and A buttons don't work when i load into a game

ok, this has come up before. i could reply with the fix again or ask you to look at the solutions posted yesterday. I'm unable to provide the solution to you becuase you haven't defined what you mean by "I've done everything" If your "everything" includes some of our previously mentioned points, then we can troubleshoot together."

Can you help me I have given all of the files an Exception yet it still doesnt work F6 or A

The latest version of this mod still, unfortunately, runs like a slideshow for me on my rtx3080. That aside, i'm DELETING my L4D2 folder and starting again. Here's what I am doing:

  1. Delete \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2 folder and all contents.
  2. In Steam, Uninstalled L4D2 and then reinstalled, downloading 13gb now.
  3. Virus & Threat protection > Virus & Threat Protection settings > Exclusions (this was empty, but I usually add the whole Steam Folder. I left this unchanged to test.
  4. I ran L4D2 and set up Multicore rendering disabled (haven't done this before) and page pool to LOW - this is REQUIRED at first and sometimes fixes the F6 error.
  5. Downloaded and dumped the zip file contents into my L4D2 folder.

I received a CRASH when starting the map and pressing F6 when my avatar was ready with gun in hand. This is important. I dont press F6 until the game itself is awaiting player input.

  1. I switched by Page pool to HIGH - Crashed again.
  2. I included the Exclusions to be my entire steam folder - crashed on F6 again.

It seems by removing the L4d2 folder and redownloading it and reapplying the zip file contents I have broken this game. My launch options is still the same. -insecure -window -novid +mat_motion_blur_percent_of_screen_max 0 +crosshair 0

Edit* By crash, I mean the little top left window view of the game freezes, sometimes alternates between frames. I need to use taskmanager to end l42.
