Weird tearing during hordes? #76

Absolutely lovely mod and as somebody who's played this game for nearly six thousand hours over the course of 11 years it is an absolute joy to be inside of it and shooting infected with my own hands. However, I have a weird issue.

I know this is an unofficial mod that is going to be janky since it's unfinished, so I expected low framerates - but I have a weird visual issue during hordes. It doesn't seem to happen if they're far away or at a medium-ish distance, but when close (or right infront of me), firing into them or slicing will elicit the game to freak out and display shards of artifacts on the screen briefly - almost like someone is throwing broken glass in your vision that's reflective. It's really strange.

Lowering effect detail seems to somewhat lessen the effects of it (although this could be placebo from gunning down hordes at a distance vs up close), but it still happens if hordes are close enough - it will also happen if a tank is on fire and right in my face, leading me to believe it's some sort of GPU overload rather than the CPU freaking out due to horde calculations. Lowering effect detail also creates a laughably low draw distance to the point that while the game isn't unplayable, it is certainly a damaged experience to have objects popping right infront of you every few seconds.

Multicore rendering didn't seem to do anything. Any thoughts? I have a pretty strong PC, and this issue happens on no other VR game.

I ended up solving this by using the Oculus Tray Tool to disable ASW specifically on this game. It works fine in every other title I have, but gives really weird tearing/artifacting in this game for some reason.

As a result the framerate during hordes isn't great, but absolutely playable! This is making me feel like a kid again, lol. Cheers!
