The reason is that NeoForge completely reworked their networking API in neoforged/neoforge#277. Me guess would be that until Architectury adapts to those changes, we won't have a REI for NeoForge 20.4.70+
Architectury has since been updated (architectury/architectury-api#468), and for players simply using the latest version resolves it. However, it would still be nice for developers if REI were updated to specify the latest version, because in order for a buildscript using REI to work, the following will no longer work
dependencies {
implementation "net.neoforged:neoforge:${neoVersion}"
implementation "me.shedaniel:RoughlyEnoughItems-neoforge:${reiVersion}"
}
It now becomes more convoluted as you have to specify your own version of architectury and exclude the one that is installed when installing REI:
dependencies {
implementation "net.neoforged:neoforge:${neoVersion}"
implementation "dev.architectury:architectury-neoforge:11.1.17"
implementation("me.shedaniel:RoughlyEnoughItems-neoforge:${reiVersion}") {
exclude group: "dev.architectury"
}
}
What happened?
When I install the latest version of REI 14.0.688 with the latest Architectury 11.0.9 on Neoforge 20.4.70+ it appears that Error (failed to load correctly
