Welcome to the repository for the research paper titled "Insightful Analysis of City of Toronto’s Consulting Expenditure∗". City of Toronto relies heavily on external consultants for its day to day working. This research paper explores the relationship between budget allocation, consulting expenditures, and expenditure type of the City over the period of five years from 2017 to 2021. It shall help to better understand the strategic focus and trends of the municipality in different sector and areas within the recent years.
Note: Language Learning Model ChatGPT was also used while writing this research paper. It was used for purpose of code debugging and knowledge of certain topics, which I was not aware of. The chat with the AI bot, is also attached as a reference under inputs\llm.
The repo is structured as:
input/data contains the data sources used in analysis including the raw data.outputs/data contains the cleaned dataset that was constructed.outputs/paper contains the files used to generate the paper, including the Quarto document and reference bibliography file, as well as the PDF of the paper. scripts contains the R scripts used to simulate, download and clean data.
