Greetings, @shohysie!

I wrote this document over 24 days to propose an overhauled and improved system for all D2 class mechanics. I want to hear your feedback on this!

Thank you very much! I'm working on another mod and it took me too much time because of the bugs of game engine. I'll go back to the D2 series after that.

Regardless, these are the main things to discuss at present:

-I recommend reserving a 2 character modder prefix on Black Wyrm's Lair. This is the list so far. I mention this because D2 conflicts with Dan_P's mods and he's been active recently. If necessary, you can use my prefix of EE.

This method is necessary to avoid unpleasantly overwriting files due to how BG works. Filenames in BG/override will overwrite other files with the same filename. This can lead to unpleasant and unpredictable results where, for example, your item mod might be selling items in its store from another mod, or your kit might be giving abilities from another kit just due to how things are coded.

-I'm amidst updating the D2 Druid & Necromancer to OlvynSpells compatibility for mod interoperability.

-I'd very much like you to make and release a mod which allows player characters (spellcasters) to become liches in BG2/BG2EE. I wrote up this proposal here with stats and a quest. I know the notion of CHARNAME becoming a lich may not be lore friendly due to the essence of dead Bhaalspawn being sucked into the Throne of Bhaal, but I assumed a lich's life essence is contained in its phylactery, thereby allowing it to regenerate without being sucked into the Throne of Bhaal.

In terms of immunities, I assumed lichdom granted the same immunities to PCs as to NPC liches (paralysis, poison, cold, disease, etc.) except not spell immunity since I don't want to break the AI. On EET, the creature gains the Undead flag. Regardless, the character can use lich touch at will (the IWD spell) as an innate ability.

The technology already exists to allow for continuing the game if CHARNAME is dead but at least 1 other party member lives. Protagonist Can Die is exactly that. An example of this in action is from OlvynSpells which has contingent resurrection as a Cleric spell. Being automatically brought back to life after dying (but not being petrified) is the sort of auto-revival liches are known for!

Just so you know, I'm willing to pay real money (Amazon gift cards, Steam credit, PayPal transfer, etc.) to have this lich mod done. I'm also willing and able to answer questions and otherwise support you in various ways along the way.
