As agreed, I've committed the changes to build a RPM, and a few other modifications #2

I might have been a bit aggressive in my changes, so please test them on your system which I hope is somehow different than mine.

I successfully built and deployed it on my SLC5.5 VM, so... at least it works for me :)

Also, I've added the spec file, so if you put just the git tree in a tar.gz, rpmbuild -ta (or -tb) can build it :)
